WETCARLOTA is a laboratory of eroticism where it is believed that eroticism is the desire to connect with the other or with something else and that this desire moves all human experience, for better or for worse.

In the podcast "The Desire to Connect," produced by WETCARLOTA, creator Carolina Ospina shared the story of how the idea behind this company came about. You can listen to the full episode here:

In 2018, Ospina was studying art when she discovered Luis Caballero, an artist who painted pleasure and pain in the same place. This was the main reference for her projects. While studying Caballero, Ospina discovered that Georges Bataille was a conceptual reference for Caballero's work, and it was there that she first read something related to eroticism from a philosophical perspective.

Ospina then began studying Philosophy, and one of the books she studied in an introductory course was Georges Bataille's "Eroticism," this time not from a visual arts perspective but from a purely philosophical perspective. Her thesis was based on the concept of eroticism and death, partly inspired by Georges Bataille and Martin Heidegger. Her final work, "Liquid Drawings," addressed eroticism in an abstract and philosophical way. After that, Ospina continued her path in various projects both within and outside of art. But in 2020, just before the pandemic, she began a creative writing course at the University of Los Andes. It was during this course that she began to conceive the WETCARLOTA project, which was initially a narrative project, later migrating to erotic illustration, and is what it is today.

WETCARLOTA is a brand that emerges from many coincidences, which ended up converging into a brand that seeks to connect bodies in creative ways.

Although Ospina recognizes that eroticism is a difficult topic to discuss and is still a sector surrounded by many taboos, WETCARLOTA hopes to give people alternatives to express and empower their erotic desire, from a healthy, safe, consensual, and creative place.

That's why they've created erotic temporary tattoos and edible tattoos, products that create that connection between people in innovative and creative ways.

In short, WETCARLOTA is an eroticism laboratory born from Carolina Ospina's personal exploration of art and philosophy, and from a passion for creating experiences to facilitate people's erotic lives, helping them break out of their routine and innovate in their sexual relationships and erotic encounters.
